On Monday Soraya and I went on a trip with my host parents. They had planned this trip for quite some time and suggested me asking Soraya if she was interested in joining. Having spent about an hour in the car, we arrived at Hever Castle. This was where Anne Boleyn, one of henry the VIII wives, lived. Along with the Castel there was an enormous garden with a lake (Which was apparently had dug!!) The garden was full of blooming flowers and bushes which made the scenery gorgeous. After lunch we made our way to the Castles entrance, which lead over a bridge. The Caste was bought by a family back in the beginning of the 20th century and that’s how it was furnished, with warm lamps and old rugs. There were descriptions to alle the pieces and bits in the separate rooms. I now even know which of his 6 wives Herny the VIII divorced and which ones he killed. White, rich, privileged men…

On Tuesday afternoon I decided to go to Gildredge park to feed all the animals. I spoored pigeons, doves, wood pigeons, squirrels, crows, sparrows and even an albino squirrel. I did not take long until my bag of oat flakes was empty. All the pink blossoms start to fall of the trees now, so one always walks through a ocean of rosa flowers.

On Wednesday I finally went to buy a book. I wanted to do that for ages however I was just never able to find the right one. But this time I walked into the Waterstones store and the first book on the best sellers desk jumped tight at me. It is about a “micro-apocalypse”. All humans suddenly shrink to the size of a palm, and the story is about the ones who had survived. I’m hoping it is as interesting as it sounds.

On Friday me and Lena had planned to get our ears pierced. And so, we did. I now have a second lobe on my left ear and I absolutely love it.

Lena had planned to go to a football match with her host brother on Saturday, but sadly he himself had no other choice but to play in a basketball match. So, she basically forced me to go. Just kidding (not). I was actually really excited, even though I do not even like football. The match was between Brighton and Manchester City. Because Lena was a City fan, I had no other choice but to do the same. However, after a very exciting game the lost. Nonetheless, nearly all the Manchester City players took the time to take pictures, and they were all so nice and gentle. Strangely, the winners team did not do that. Lena was able to get her scarf signed by Kerstin Caspsrij; her favourite player and she even took the time to take a photo with my friend. Lena was the happiest person on earth after that had happened.

On Sunday afternoon I did nearly exactly the same as the Sunday before due to the fact that I loved it so much. So go read that!! :3

However, on Sunday evening I 10’000 steps weren’t enough, so I made my way up to Hamden Park. Since the sun does not go down up until after 8pm it was still light by the time I arrived there. At this time the Park is very quiet and peaceful. I walked around for a bit, observed swans and other technically flying creatures and then made my way back. By the time I was half by back it was nearly dark. I realized I hadn’t tried taking pictures with long time exposure for quite some time. I sadly only had my phone with me, but I still took a few pictures. At the beginning I did not manage to take a good one, but it worked out eventually. The people driving past must have thought I was crazy or something. Taking pictures of their licence plate. It was worth it though.
